Profiling an IR Reflow Oven After Maintenance or Lamp Changes
Work on a lamp, reflector, guard or window, fan, sensor or controller can change the delivered heat field. Use a series of release gates; a successful startup is only the first observation.
- Verify the change record, installed part, drawing and orientation.
- Check current, spacing, cooling, guards and interlocks.
- Run the established instrumented board from its defined start state.
- Compare hot/cold ramp, time bands, peak, cooling, zone outputs and repeatability.
- Confirm solder or process results before release. Investigate unexplained controller compensation. A controller may hold one sensor at its setpoint while driving a weak zone harder. Preserve the records from before and after maintenance, and link the approved lamp revision to the spare-parts inventory. Identify every Goldisgood replacement selected from the documented range by its exact voltage, power, active length, terminal configuration and optical revision. Related: optical contamination and hot/cold locations.
